Since our founding in 1961, WAHHI has made generous donations to projects that benefit our community. In 2016, we established the WAHHI Charitable Fund administered by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, a 501(c)(3). Since then, we have awarded grants to local nonprofits to support specific needs.
Our grants are given to projects that align with the core values of WAHHI’s mission statement: To facilitate communication among women, to encourage projects that benefit the community and to promote the natural and cultural beauty of the Lowcountry. Grants encourage and recognize programs that respond to the ever-changing needs of our community through innovative approaches to meet community challenges.
This year, WAHHI grants seeks to fund nonprofit organizations that are driving discovery in our community by identifying unmet needs and creating lasting positive change. We believe that discovery is not just about new beginnings, but also about deepening impact, revealing potential, and rediscovering what makes our neighborhoods resilient. Whether launching a new initiative or building on the success of existing work, we want to support non-profit’s efforts to move our community forward.
All grant applicants are required to meet four criteria:
1. Applicant must have 501(c)(3) status.
2. Applicant must fit our area of focus.
3. Applicant must serve our geographical area.
4. Applicant must have offices located in the geographical boundaries as defined by the WAHHI constitution.
Grant amounts will not exceed $7,500.00
Grant applications will be accepted by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry beginning Sept. 17, 2025 until Nov. 7, 2025. Grants will be awarded in January 2026.
