WAHHI President’s Report 2023-24

WOW!!! Where did the year go?

I feel like I blinked, and it was June 1st. I am so thankful for all the support you offered when I stepped into the President position eight months earlier than expected. I have made some amazing connections this year and I hope you did too! I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight some of the things WAHHI accomplished this year:

• Reached a record high of over 1,200 members.

• Hosted 1,050 events.

• Offered 47 different Interest Groups.

• Donated $40,500 to nine different charities and $6,000 in Youth Service Awards to six high school students.

• Had two golf scrambles, one athleisure fashion show, a garden tour, St. Patrick’s Day and Halloween parties and had 25 chef series events—to name a few.

• Hosted four fantastic Signature Events.

• Safely brought back the On-The Water interest group.

It’s been a fabulous year, and I sincerely hope you enjoyed it as well!

Thank you to all who served our WAHHI community in any capacity this year, whether on the board or council, as an ambassador or Interest Group leader or as a committee member! It truly takes a village. Thank you also to our Diamond Members: $25 of your dues goes to our charitable fund. For the 2024-25 membership year, which is renewing now, we are offering a Sapphire membership level which costs $150, of which $105 goes directly to our account with the Low Country Foundation. And finally, thank you in advance to the 2024-25 board and council which has already begun working!

Now that we have all connected for the 2024-25 year, I’d like to encourage you all to deepen your engagement with WAHII. Join a different Interest Group or start a new one, attend a signature or a chef series event or even try a golf or pickleball clinic! Our WAHHI Vision is to be the heart and soul of the women’s community in the Lowcountry, engaging our members to form connections, promote personal enrichment, and better our community. Let’s create a community where everyone engages and finds a place to connect. I’m honored to serve as your president next year and look forward to all the amazing activities we have in store.

Warmly,

Debbie Gorski
