Five local high school students where honored for their service work in the community and granted the WAHHI Youth Service Award. Each recipient received a $1000 award.
Addie DeVaney – May River High School
Addie began volunteering in the 5th grade. She started volunteering at her church preschool and has been on a number of mission trips to Central & South America.
Beckett Jones – Hilton Head Preparatory School
Beckett is a vital part of volunteering at Bluffton Self-Help and has over 400 hours of community service. He spent time during the pandemic hand writing notes to first responders.
Edy McGoldrick – Hilton Head Island High School
Edy has volunteered throughout the community, including RBC Heritage, The Church Mouse, St. Luke’s Church, National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Theodore Oldham – John Paul II Catholic School
As an accomplished musician, Teddy has volunteered at several nursing homes designing music programs. He has also been involved in beach and storm clean up.
Jennifer Richardson – Bluffton High School
Jennifer has volunteered at FCA serve camp, local churches, Best Buddies, and the Town of Bluffton as a Youth Council representative.
